Chapter Eight: Brenda

Brenda sat next to Jaxson inside the tow truck as they waited for the man to finish changing the tire for them. She listened as Jaxson told Brian, Shar’Teka, and Sasha that he must have run over something. The more she looked at Teka, the more she realized that she was not buying that. Brenda had been in the car with Jaxson, and he had not run over anything, and the car was fine when they went inside the restaurant. Teka’s word kept replaying over inside her mind. “You may have won the battle, but I will win the war.”

This little stunt had her name written all over it, and she was going to get to the bottom of things when she got back to her dorm room.

“I got you all fixed up.” The tow truck driver said to them.

“Ok great. We really appreciate your help.” Jaxson told him.

“No problem sir. If I could get you to sign right here, I will be out of your way.” Jaxson took the clipboard and signed it.

“Thank you, and you two try to enjoy the rest of your night.” The man said as he took the clipboard back and walked away.

Jaxson helped Brenda get down out the truck. As she slid down to the ground in his arms, she looked him in the eyes. The moment was so tense, and Jaxson could not help himself as he kissed her lips very softly. Brenda closed her eyes, but the kiss was so brief that she should have kept them open to be sure it was real.

“Brenda.” Looking into her eyes had Jaxson feeling some type of way, but he wouldn’t dare disrespect her by moving too fast. Jaxson was already convinced that she was his wife and his wife would be treated with the upmost respect.

Brenda never took her eyes off him as he set her on the ground and took his arms from around her. She instantly longed for his touch again. There had been nothing sexual about him helping her down, but Brenda could not get her body to understand that. She was feeling a desire that she had never known could exist, but she kept her cool and refrained from saying anything that would embarrass her. It was still unbelievable that the man of her dreams, Caramel Chocolate, was here with her like this. She did not go around stalking him, but she had kept up with him and the things that he had going on around campus. It seemed that every woman at the University wanted him, but he was choosing her. She really liked how he included her with every conversation he had. He made sure to make it known that they were together and she mattered to him. Brenda chuckled a little thinking about Teka’s response at the table earlier. Brenda had wanted to tell her to pick her lip up off the ground. Jaxson was something special. She had no idea where things were going, but so far, she was willing to take the ride.
